Jeff Olson

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Jeffry Olson is an undergraduate Research Assistant at the Diabetes Institute for Immunology and Transplantation.  He began pursuing his Bachelor of Science degree in 2004; he is planning to major in biology and may double major in chemistry.

Jeff is the Vice President of the Chess Club at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities, a future U-Crew member of Frontier Hall, a Dietary Aid, and a Youth Baseball Umpire back home.  Originally from Rochester, Minnesota, Jeff was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2000.  Ever since then, he has been actively pursuing research opportunities in the field.  Wherever his career path may take him, he hopes that diabetes will be involved.  His hobbies include playing ping pong, dancing, dachshunds, and listening to Celine Dion.
